Mars Millenium WebQuest Process
You will start with a Mission briefing by the Project Coordinators. Here you will learn about everything you need to do and what the goals of the project are.
You will then be assigned to a group. This is only for the first phase of the project. When time comes to implement the colony, you will all be working together.
All the work will be done online, using the Pioneer Project list and website (forum). Always be very aware that there are participants who are distant and need to be maintained very well informed in order to be able to help. All major decisions and discussions should be made online, or at least reported after they have been made.
You and your team will prepare a presentation answering the questions related to your assignment. The presentation format will be described below, under Evaluation.
You will present your conclusions at the Mission Planning meeting, as well as post them to the Pioneer website. At the end of this meeting you and your group should be prepared to finish the model of the colony.
Using the Inspiration software, you will make a blueprint (model) of the final colony plan and post it on the web for all to analyze.
You will then go through a training period where you will learn how to use the programming language that you will use to build your virtual colony.
Finally, you will build the colony and exhibit it on the web, so that it can be judged.
Obs.: Though most of the debates and discussions will be done in Portuguese, it is very important that all the steps be summarized in English, on the web, so that the committee can see and evaluate the whole process you went through to come to your final product. Each team will be responsible for producing this summary in English, so that all the steps may be very well registered.
